The APICS Gold Rush Chapter Board of Directors is a volunteer group that oversees the administration of the chapter courses and events. Elections are held each June for the new leadership team. President & Education - Celeste Ayers, CFPIM, CSCP
Celeste Ayers is the current APICS Gold Rush Chapter President. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Human Resource Management from CSU, Stanislaus and an MBA in Operations and Supply Chain Management from Golden Gate University. Born and raised in Modesto, California she is passionate about the development of professionals in the greater Modesto area as young as high school to advanced career levels.
Mrs. Ayers is also an APICS IDP Master Level Instructor for courses offered by the APICS Gold Rush Chapter and APICS Corporate. In addition, she is an professor for Modesto Junior College and Golden Gate University (San Francisco, CA). She is an award winning instructor at the colliegaite and APICS levels.
In 2009, Celeste became a Board Member of the APICS Gold Rush Chapter and was elected to the Presidency in 2012. During her leadership the APICS Gold Rush Chapter has won the APICS Pacific Western District “Outstanding Chapter of the Quarter” nine times and achieved Platinum status three years in a row. Currently she is employed full time with E&J Gallo Winery where she is the Sr Manager - Operations Learning & Development.
Vice President at Large - Deborah Hollis-Coburn, CSCP
In her current role at Johnson & Johnson, Deborah delivers demonstrated collaborative Sales & Operations Planning governance, Inventory, and Supply Chain process improvement strategies to support and drive supply chain recommendations for new product introductions and product end-of-life opportunities. Deborah is actively involved in several volunteer organizations serving both business and the community including the San Francisco Chapter of the Healthcare Businesswoman's Association, The African American Leadership Council at J&J Diabetes Care Companies, the Gold Rush Chapter in the Pacific Western District of APICS, and more. She holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management from California State University, Fresno, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, is a Process Excellence certified Green Belt, and holds the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional and the Institute of Business Forecasting & Planning Certified Professional Forecaster certification.
Vice President of Administration - Matthew Gomez
Matt Gomez joined the APICS Gold Rush Chapter in 2014 and became the VP of Administration in 2015. After retiring from the US Army as a Logistician, he currently works for the Defense Logistics Agency in Tracy, CA, as the Director of Distribution Operations. Matt studied at Kansas State University graduating with a Masters in Supply Chain Management. Matt obtained his Demonstrated Master Logistician certification in 2015 and intends on obtaining his CSCP and PMP certifications and continuing to learn more about logistics and supply chain management.
Vice President of Programs - Dana Pina
Dana R. Pina has been with The Wine Group, Inc. since November 2001. She has worked in many aspects of the wine business including Compliance, Pricing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Customer Service. She has spent the last 5 years as an Inventory Control Forecast Analyst with a focus on consignment warehouses in Controlled States. She joined APICS Gold Rush Chapter in 2014 and became the VP of Memberships in 2015 and became VP of Programs in 2016. She is in the process of becoming CPIM Certified.
